    Inner Thighs

Wide Leg Forward Bend with Spinal Twist Variation

Today we will be working our inner thighs and getting grounded. Practicing yoga outdoors and getting in touch with the earth is my favorite way to practice. I walk barefoot as much as possible to absorb the energy of our planet and help balance my energies.

Inner thigh poses help to stabilize you and increase flexibility and ease of movement.

-Begin standing and inhale with your legs wide enough to give you a good stretch.

-Exhale and fold forward in the center placing your hands under your chest. You can lower down to your forearms for a deeper stretch.

-Inhale and lift your left arm straight up to the sky, keeping your right hand in the center. Stay here a couple breaths.

-Then inhale and switch, placing your left hand where your right hand was and your right hand to the sky. Gaze upwards. Stay for a couple breaths.

-Rise up and inhale. Exhale and bend towards your right ankle. Aiming to stretch your body flat against your leg and grasp your ankle with both hands. Stay here a few breaths.

-Inhale and, keeping your body and right hand grasping your ankle, lift your left arm and gaze to the sky. Stay here a few breaths. Release to standing.

-inhale, centering yourself. And then exhale forward and grasp each ankle with the hand on that side of the body, at the same time. Stay here a few breaths. If you’re feeling a challenge, you can even lift your heels off the mat and balance on your toes in this position. Tho I did not feel comfortable enough to do that with the fire behind me lol 😂

-optional: Finish your practice with a little Trataka, or fire gazing meditation. This is usually done with a candle flame but today I used the campfire. 🔥🏕️

Beautiful! I love that you also talk about connecting to the earth barefoot. This is so healing 🙂
