HW: Peak Pose
One of the poses that I really like and find challenging is the Standing Splits. There are several poses that can help prepare the body for this pose. It can be helpful to move through sun salutations where you use three legged down dog as a transition into a low lunge, in the low lunge making sure to shift your weight forward, elongating and stretching the hip flexor of the extended leg. Making sure to spend at least 3 breaths on each side for the lower lunge. Transitioning into Warrior 3 pose will also prepare the body and is a smooth transition into the standing splits.
