    Butterfly Pose

    (Baddha Konasana)

    Butterfly Pose stretches the inner thighs and lower back. It helps release any toxins and negative energy in the area of the hip and groin. Great for opening the Root and Sacral Chakras.

    From a seated position, bring the soles of your feet together, toes and heels meeting each other. Let your knees relax down towards the mat.
    Inhale, sit up tall with spine straight.
    Exhale, fold forward and completely relax your upper body, arms, neck, and head.
    If it’s available to you, completely surrender to the earth with your forehead resting on the mat. Or you can rest your head on a yoga block instead.
    Only stretch as much as your body will allow.

    No yoga pose should cause you pain.

    Stay here for a few breaths, feeling this wonderful stretch.

    Inhale and raise your body back to sitting.

    Exhale and release the pose.
