    Dekasana Airplane Pose
Breath of fire is a form of pranayama, or breath control. Breath of fire is also known as “skull shining breath “ or kapelabhati. In Sanskrit kapel means skull or forehead and bhati means illuminating. This technique actives the third chakra. This breathing technique involves passive normal inhalations and powerful, rapid exhalations. This style of forced exhalation may reduce stress, boost brain function, and improve respiratory health. It also strengthens the abdominal muscles and improves digestion. During breath of fire you inhale passively and exhale forcefully. The exhale which requires you to contract your abdominal muscles, is the main focus of this technique. Also the inhale and exhale should be the same length, without any pauses in between. During this yoga flow session we did 10 fire breaths for each pose.
Dekasana Airplane Pose From high lunge, transition forward onto the front foot which is firmly grounded, the leg behind is extended back inline with the body, the arms can be either extended out to the sides of the body or straight back inline with the body. Hips are square. Shoulders are away from the ears, head is inline with the shoulders.Coming out of this pose just requires you to step back into a high lunge. The practice of dekasana has a close resemblance to virabhadrasana III (warrior pose III), with the exception to the arms being to the side or straight back. Airplane pose benefits the core, hamstrings, hips, psoas and the quadriceps.

Wonderful! I’ve never heard it called skull shining breath before. Thanks for teaching me something new! Just a little thing, but kapalbhati is generally spelled with an ‘a’. Not a big deal at all though. Great work 🙂
