    Easy Pose, or Sukasana
My favourite way to open and end my practice. Find yourself in a seated position, legs crossed with a tall spine, shoulder away and back from the ears. If you find that your knees float above your hips or are feeling any tightness, feel free to place a block, pillow or folded blanket under your sitz bones to tip the pelvis forward. The goal is to anchor in through the seat to ease the spine of any weight. Place your hands on your knees; palms facing down to ground your energy (this can be helpful after a busy day, or before bedtime) or palms facing up to receive a little extra (this is great if you are feeling sluggish or could use a little more from your guides). This position allows the body to be free from the impositions of gravity and balance to allow the mind to truly relax into a state of deep meditation. Follow the breath, inhale slowly, exhale steadily, aware of the expansion and contraction of your diaphragm. Take 5 breaths here in stillness. Namaste.
