Cow Face Pose
Starting in a seated position, begin to stack left knee over right so they are aligned. If this is not possible in your practice you may use a yoga block or blanket under the left hip to support that hip and knee. For an easier variety, keep your heels closer to your thighs; to enhance the pose and go deeper into your hips have your heels further away from your thighs. Lift the left arm straight into the air and bend at the elbow, like you are going to pat yourself on the back. To start take your right hand and gently press down on the left elbow. To deepen this pose, take the right hand behind your back and try to reach up and grab the left fingers. Once you are in your pose, hold. On your inhale, sit up straight. On the exhale try to go deeper by clasping the hands and opening your shoulders and upper back. To come out of this pose, gently release the right hand and straighten the arm, then straighten the left arm. Open your arms wide. Release your legs slowly and bicycle them out to release any tension you may have.
