There are so many powerful breathing techniques available to us. It is always to start your practice with a breathing exercise before meditation. This will calm the mind so you can center yourself. Start with your legs crossed in a seated position. Also available seated in a chair with your back straight. Put your left hand in mudra by placing the thumb against your pointer finger. Just let the tips touch and stay relaxed. Bend the two middle fingers of your right hand. Breath normally a couple of times. Then breath in, close the left nostril with your right ring finger, hold for four counts. Close your right nostril with your right thumb and breath out. Breath in again through your left nostril and hold for four counts. And continue alternating between nostrils
