HW: Lower Back Pain Relief
Head to knee pose, Janu Sirsasana
This assymenrical bend, when performed on both sides, helps one to develop an awareness of which side of their body they tend to prefer. It will help to bring back balance and even distribution among your spine, hips and lower joints. From a seated position, extend your left leg, and bring your right foot to meet your inner thigh. Lengthening the spine, inhale and reach your arms out wide, exhale, rotate and fold over the left leg, drop your right shoulder and breath deeply. If it is available to you, grab hold of the arch of your foot, option to use a strap or towel, whatever helps you to meet yourself today. Breath steadily. Your emphasis on the exhale will allow you to move deeper in this stretch, while the inhale will extend the stretch through the lats and upper spine.
