HW: Journey to Joyful
Reading Dashamas’ book was unlike anything I had read before. It really opened my eyes to seeing the world in a new light. I found many different aspects I wanted to work on, and some that just resonated with me as soon as I learned about it. Golden Rule #9: Be open to all possibilities, Move beyond the duality of right and wrong. This is the one that I feel is my biggest challenge. To often we see things as black and white. This can create unnecessary stress. By opening our minds and seeing things from all different points of views we can feel humbled and less critical of others as well as ourselves. Personally I am the most critical of myself and what I think I should or shouldn’t do, think, or feel. At the end of the day everything happens as it should.
My favorite topic was that of healing the inner child. Although it isn’t touched on as much in the book as through the meditations, I resonate with this truth. We cannot live our lives without facing the hard truths and wounds seeded in our earlier years. The importance of feeling the emotions when they arise and then letting them go fully so that you can move forward with less weight on your shoulders is SO appealing and makes so much sense! “Instead of taking responsibility for our feeling, we look to others to blame.” This rings true to me and so many close to me. Hopefully with time, practice, and acceptance I, and those I love, can move past this and find peace, joy, and unconditional love.
thank you Dashama.
