HW: Journey Into the Heart
Full Wheel, Urdhva Dhanurasana
Begin lying in back.
Bend knees and bring feet, shoulder width apart to where you can touch heels with fingertips.
Bend elbows and place palms flat on mat above shoulders, fingertips pointing toward feet.
Take a deep breathe and, at exhale, push into palms, lifting shoulders and hips off of mat.
This can be difficult if you are new to the movement or have tight shoulders like I do.
Rest with crown of head on mat before final push.
Now go for it.
Weight into palm as you straighten arms.
Continue breathing slow and steady.
Weight equally on all hands and feet.
Pull up with navel
Relax neck.
Count slowly to 30.
Allow yourself to release down onto mat with control, not flopping here.
Lie in corpse pose and allow body to feel the effects of the pose.
Maybe you will decide to do it one more time.
