I really enjoyed a number of videos in this module. I am going to focus on the heal your back video in my reflection about sequencing, cueing, and adjustments. I did want to say that I really appreciated the focus on the expanding and lengthening of the spine in most of the videos. I especially enjoyed extending the spine in the detox flow, in the half-forward bend with the hands on the thighs. The heal your back video focuses on sequences that flow into each other with the intention of deep back stretching and strengthening to heal back pain, tightness, and trauma. Dashama shares how she was able to heal her own spine of scoliosis at the start of the video, inspiring others to be able to heal themselves through yoga as well. In regard to sequencing, I learned that sequences tend to have specific focuses on different body parts. I appreciated how she specifically mentioned that we were doing new sequences whenever we were because it made the concept of sequencing clearer to me. I learned that poses in the sequencing all flowed well into each other and complemented each other well. I noticed and learned that the cueing often took place as informing about the breath before telling the pose/explaining the posture. I also noticed she would often tell how many times to breathe in a pose and to expand the spine. She would also explain how not to push oneself too far to the point of injury. Lastly, she offered adjustments for most of the poses and provided various ways to practice the poses. I learned many different variations for adjustments of different poses and ways to offer them and encourage people to try out what feels best for them. I also noticed she often suggested not to push too far as to cause injury. I also noticed in some of the videos that she would help students to adjust the poses as needed throughout the practices when she had students with her in person.
