    HW: Fire Flow

    Airplane with Fire Breathing

With this pose we will be doing the Fire Breath Pranayama breathing technique also known as Bellow’s Breath, or Kapalabhati. Fire is the element of transformation and change. This breathing technique can help clear your mind and leave you feeling more energized and motivated. It also activates your core, which helps balance your Solar Plexus Chakra, the chakra of self confidence, determination and will power. To do Fire Breath, exhale in short bursts, and the inhale is passive, meaning the focus will be on the exhale, the inhale will come naturally on it’s own.

For Airplane, begin standing, and slowly shift your weight to your right foot, and draw your left leg back and up while leaning forward. Try to align your lifted leg with your torso and keep both legs straight. Arms can be out to the side, or back along your torso. This pose challenges you to balance while holding yourself stable through your core. While in Airplane pose, add your Fire Breath, exhaling 10 times.

*Scarlett, my 7 year old wanted to try Airplane too!
