    Fish with Lotus Legs…Starting from laying flat on the mat

    *You should know if you can comfortably and safely get into Lotus pose before attempting this.

    From your prone position, bend the right leg and use the hands to draw the foot up towards the opposite (left) groin, flex the toe to keep the knee safe and click the little toe into the groin so it stays. Do the same with the left leg, lifting the foot over the right leg – being mindful of the knee – and draw it to rest in the right groin, or as near as you can. With the legs folded like this, they should stay , just be aware the knees are twisting.

    Press yourself up on to your elbow; the knees should move further towards the ground if they aren’t already. Walk the hands to just underneath the top of the glutes or at least so that your elbows are under your shoulders. Lift the heart to the sky and, if its available to you, gently release the head backwards.

    Breathe deeply into the chest.

    To come out, gently draw the chin back into the chest, release the hands and release the body back to the ground. Carefully, and with the hands if need be, release one leg at a time.
