    Tree Pose, Vrksasana

    Ground in Mountain Pose.

    Feel the solidity of the earth. This is tree pose so we are going to be a tree.

    Root into the earth as you breathe fully for 3 breathes.

    Raise your leg to rest above knee on inner thigh. Resting on the calf is also fine. Resting on the knee is not.

    Keep left leg flexed and strong as this is your base.

    Bring hands into prayer.

    There are many possibilities for the arms.

    Feel free to extend arms upward as a tree would.

    When I am having difficulty with my balance, I like to rest my palms on my abdomen to bring center of balance there.

    It is helpful for balance to keep eyes fixed on a non-moving spot.

    Remain in your pose for at least a count of 60.

    Return to Mountain and repeat on opposite side.
