HW: Chakra Series – Heart Chakra
The Heart Chakra, or Anahata, is the fourth Chakra and is associated with the color green and the element of air. It is located in the chest and heart and is developed from ages 4-7 years old. The developmental tasks at this sage are to from peer and family relationships and to begin developing persona. Some of the balanced characteristics of the Chakra are compassion, love, empathy, and peaceful. This is one of the shifting points where the focus is less internal and more external focused – looking at connecting with others successfully. This is such an important Chakra as it is vital for us to have healthy connections with others in our lives. Through asanas and breath work I hope to help clients open this energy center so they can feel better equipped to connect with people in their lives. I am grateful that this energy center seems to be more regularly balanced for me and I hope to provide sequences for participants to be open to meaningful and healthy relationships.
