HW: Chakra #5, Throat Chakra
Throat Chakra- Chakra #5- The Throat Chakra (Visuddha) is located at the center of the neck at the level of the throat. It is the passage of the energy between the lower parts of the body and the head. The function of the Throat Chakra is driven by the principle of expression and communication. The color Blue is associated with the Throat Chakra. This has been one I have ignored until now. I grew up in a seen, not heard household where my opinion did not matter; I have been trying to find my voice for a long time. I felt like the singing/chanting throughout the practice allowed me to go deeper into the poses, it got me out of my body. I had to concentrate on the words, once I got into the pose, so I sunk deeper without even realizing I had. I released so much tension in my upper back and shoulders through doing this. I would love to do this with my students to help them release just as I have through this particular practice.
