HW: Bedtime Yoga to Help you Sleep
Wide Leg Forward Fold
From the comfort of your bed, sit up straight and take the legs out wide, and take a minute to move the butt meat back out of the way so we have a balanced seat on the sit bones. (Option to have a pillow or blanket under the hips if you need more space in the hips to get the legs out.) Sit tall lifting out of the hips – option to evert and flex the feet if you want a more dynamic pose, otherwise you can stay relaxed. Place the hands in front and with a long spine, walk the hands forward, and lean forward from the hips first, bringing the heart forward before lowering. No stressing or staining here; if the knees pop up, which is more likely on a bed, that’s fine. Maybe you stay higher up on your hands, maybe you can lower a little more and come to the forearms, or further still all the way down – chest to mattress – where you can then take a yogic toe lock.
To come out, simply walk the hands back in to sit upright. Then place hands under the knees and rock your weight back and use the hands to lift the knees , bringing them back together.
(I also appreciate I look really fed up here – I’m not, just super chilled!) 😂
