Empowerment vinyasa, as the name suggests: Yoga with and for strength!
By bringing more strength into your practice and life, you can often achieve more things you want to achieve. It is important that you can draw power from your 3rd chakra, that you dare to speak out (5th chakra) and that you always stay grounded enough during the change (1st chakra) and work from your real core/heart (4th chakra). So you see who it’s always important to maintain the balance between your will to move forward, to be committed to this and to speak out on the one hand and to remain open/receptive to new information, to be guided and not to go too fast on the other. It is a fine line between leading and being led. Between moving forward and staying present. By finding the balance between both, you ensure a stable, sustainable and powerful growth where you will walk your visualized path and remain flexible enough for necessary adjustments or new information comes along the way.
In this session, the Ganesha Mantra is used to reinforce the exercise. With this mantra you ask the god Ganesha (the protector of all beings, the Lord of harmony and peace and master of knowledge and wisdom) to help you remove obstacles that are on your (spiritual) path and to help you / bring success during your growth towards the new thing you want to achieve. “Om Gam Ganapatayae namaha”.
In various postures you are going to repeat this mantra 5 times.

I like that this sequence also ends with the mantra combined with EFT. In this variation, you place 1 hand on the heart to tap, the other hand changes places. Tap 5 times on crown chakra, 5 times on 3rd eye, 5 times on solar plexus. Finish with Prayer hands and a long “Om”. This EFT at the end provides additional anchoring of your joyful will to change/grow in your body and mind.

The exercise I have chosen to describe is the High Lunge / Warrior 1 forward bend.
It is a powerful posture where you are grounded and already moving forward with your body, while still keeping your body on the ground. As if you took a picture just when you began to walk your path. In addition, this posture forms a nice transition between High Lunge / Warrior 1 and Airplane / Warrior 3.

You start from High Lunge or Warrior 1 stance. 1 leg extended back, foot points forward, heel off the floor (high lunge); or foot point 45 degrees outer edge of the foot grounded into the floor (Warrior 1). Front leg is bent (max 90 degrees), foot points forward. Feet are hip-width apart. Pelvis points straight forward.

From here, bring your torso forward so that the center of gravity of your chest would almost fall at the level of your knee. This tends you to rest most of your body weight on your front leg, however, do not do this and push yourself back slightly so that your body weight remains distributed over both feet and both feet remain grounded. The back foot keeps pointing straight forward (if you start from High Lunge) or at a 45 degree angle outward (if you start from Warrior 1).

The arms are brought up along the ears and extended forward at a 45-degree angle pointing upward. Put your hands in fire mudra for more power, or just stretched fingers side by side, or in Lotus mudra to receive more.

Tighten all your trunk muscles (both back with emphasis on upper back, and abdominal muscles) firmly to protect your back.

Let you heart slightly drop from your shoulder blades and bring it forward and a little more up. Feel te space in your hart and the giving away to the universe.

In this pose, chant the Ganesha Mantra 5 times: Om Gam Ganapatayae namaha.

Then move on to Airplane wings or Warrior 3 by shifting your body weight to your front leg and letting your back foot come off the ground till it’s horizontal with the floor. Arms come in front of you, also horizontal with the floor.
