10 Breaths to Bliss
This is a breath control practice that can help raise or clear your energy.
Begin in a calm environment, maybe it’s the early morning or late night, which ever works for you. Get yourself into a seated position, either on the earth, with a cushion, or a chair, as long as you’re comfortable.
Be kind to yourself during this practice, if your breath becomes too intense and brings you to feel faint, allow yourself to soften your breath or take a pause if necessary.
You will be taking 10 inhales and 10 exhales, breathing through your nose and moving your body with the breath.
Place your hands on your knees and take a deep inhale through the nose, then as you exhale fold forward towards the earth. Inhale and allow your body to rise up, sit nice and tall with your breath flowing up from the base of the spine out towards the sky.
Repeat this process for the next 9 breaths, then on your final exhale hold the breath for about 10 counts as you return to an upright seated position. During this hold, focus your energy on the center of the forehead, holding good intention here.
Release your breath and do 2 more sets of 10 breaths.
With your last breath, take a moment to feel how you are, notice your heartbeat, the sounds near, the colours around you. From here you may flow into a meditation if you’d like.
