HW Forearm Balance and Hwadstand
Inversions are great upper body, core and neck strengtheners when done correctly. It helps relieve pressure off the heart while improving circulation. However done incorrectly and it can really mess up your neck. I know my neck strength is not great nor is my core. I mainly watched this class and practiced some poses to build on.
My favorite was forearm plank to puppy pose.
Come into plank and take a few breaths. You can rock side to side or shift front and back then settling into plank.
Inhale and hold the pose for 5 breaths. On your 5th exhale lower to your knees. Reach your arms forward bringing your chin to the floor or block, but up in the air. This is puppy pose. Take a few.breaths and on a inhale come back up into plank. Repeat however many times you wish.
This pose stretches out your shoulders, back and neck.
