HW: Journey to Joyful
One of the things I really appreciated about Journey to Joyful was learning about the Chakras. I had heard the word before but did not really know more about it. To be honest, I didn’t put much stock in them. Growing up with a western mindset, ideas such as Chakras were always presented as just a spiritual concept from another religion. I appreciated the introduction to the science of Chakras and I am looking forward to learning more details about each Chakra.
In the process of learning about the Chakras I began realizing how cultural my thinking is. I recognize that in learning new things I look for the science or research that supports new concepts. Part of this comes from the western mindset and part of this is from years of schooling. It has been a good experience to recognize my judgments of concepts that are new to me and also to find the common ground. It has also helped me recognize my learning styles and what I need to help myself feel competent and confident in what I am learning.
I have really appreciated the Chakra series in the training and I am looking forward to going into more depth about Chakras – I look forward to understanding the healing potential in working with Chakras.
