HW: Chakra #6 – The Third Eye Chakra
The third chakra is the third eye chakra which and is located in the middle of the forehead, between the eyebrows. The color associated with this chakra is purple. This chakra is driven by openness and imagination.
When the third eye chakra is balanced, one will recognize as themselves and everything around them as coming from one source. In addition, a person will come to understand the true nature of his or her existence.
During a throat chakra sequence, it is common to practice a Vinyasa flow with the eyes closed. The flow will be slower, taking several deep cleansing breaths in each pose. It is also common to practice balancing poses such as tree pose or even just lifting the knee up. Since the whole sequence is performed with closed eyes, one may find that balance is a little harder than usual. Having the eyes closed forces people to look deep within themselves while doing poses. It will also heighten the other sense so an individual may be more aware of noses or smells around them or feelings within them.
Practicing third eye chakra sequences is
difficult for me because my eyes are closed. I found that doing it though it
forced me to listen more carefully to what I was being instructed to do. I also found that I was more connected with
what I was feeling. I do feel that I
definitely need to work on this chakra more. -
