Bridge pose
Lying on the floor bend your knees and place the feet flat on the floor as close to your sit bones as possible. Exhale and pressing firmly through the feet lift the hips off the floor shooting them towards the sky. Keep your thighs and knees parallel and engaged. Walk your shoulders together to clasp your hands together on the floor below your pelvis. Lift your chin slightly and radiate your chest towards your chin.
Backbends are great for the spine, shoulders, and core but should always be done after a warm up and with soft forward bend counter poses afterwards.
